California Video Distributors

From Home Video

History

[edit]

California Video Distributors was a home video distributor established by Noel C. Bloom in the early 1980s. It primarily served as distributor of product from International Video Entertainment, including titles from Family Home Entertainment after that label's agreement with MGM/UA lapsed, as well as Caballero Control Corporation. California Video Distributors, presumably in cooperation with GoodTimes Home Video, also distributed the Hollywood Movie Greats line.

By 1987, Bloom divested many assets; IVE was sold to Carolco Pictures, while the Hollywood Movie Greats brand was surrendered to GoodTimes Home Video. Bloom then used his funds to start a whole new company, Celebrity Home Entertainment.
