How to Tell[edit]
- 1981-1986 tapes, duplicated here, would have a white or orange sticker with a print date on the bottom spine.
- Until 1984, the sticker was formatted like these examples:
Example 1:
GU MB
124 16
DEC
Example 2:
D E D
521 12
FEB
- Tapes duplicated beginning in 1984 have the sticker formatted like these examples:
Example 1:
USA
PIPPIN
3/16/85
P1D# 731
Example 2:
FHE
TRNSFRMRS
ROLLFORIT
7/20/85
P26D#0893
- However, tapes released by GoodTimes Home Video that were duplicated at this arm may use a blue sticker.
- Tapes duplicated here between 1986-1988 may use white ink printings with a print date. These printings were formatted like these examples:
Example 1:
THRILLER TALES FRM THE DRKSIDE #3
05/01/86 P1D#0201 WO7998
Example 2:
FHE RUPERT&FROG SONG-24554
2/5/87 HSP0373 RT22:18 WO16835
Example 3:
IVE JEM TRULY OUTRAGES-22781
11/14/87 P1-6D#0656 WO1688
Example 4:
IVE ADV. IN DINOSAURLND-23523 3RD
07/25/88 P2D#1240 WO#5450 T-15
Rank Video Services America continued this method for much of the rest of 1988 following its acquisition of this arm from International Video Entertainment that year.
- As seen in the above examples, a P/D number indicates real-time duplication, while an HSP number indicates that a Sony Sprinter was used.
- One known copy of an October 1986 IVE preview tape had the record tab intact.
- Tapes duplicated here did not have anything in the vertical blanking interval.

This is an example of what the print date sticker looks like on tapes duplicated prior to 1986. Note that the sticker is actually orange, but the scanner could not register color, making it appear white.
