Appearance
History
[edit]In 1978, Walter Gernert and Russ Hampshire had formed VCA Pictures. The initials "VCA" stood for Video Company of America (not to be confused with Video Corporation of America). It specialized in adult films. Gernert had also formed an affiliate company that was his alias, Dark Bros. In 1985, Gernert left to start out his general entertainment company Magnum Entertainment. As a result, VCA would be managed solely by Hampshire.
In the 1990s, Hampshire served one year in jail for the interstate transportation of obscene materials. In 2003, VCA was sold to Hustler Video, a subsidiary of Larry Flynt Publications.
