Label/Distributor Letter Codes
The VHS Tapes I Own that were printed at Deluxe Video Services
So even though Rank Video Services America was renamed Deluxe Video Services in mid-1998 (which resulted in their letter code being changed from "RVS" to "DLX"), some labels/distributors such as Paramount and probably Columbia TriStar continued to use their own letter codes until sometime in 1999 (Paramount's letter code was PAR, Columbia TriStar's letter code was CTV). I wonder when in 1999 that label/distributor letter codes were phased out in favor of the "DLX" code. For example, my copy of "Rugrats: Angelica Knows Best" (a Nickelodeon Video/Paramount release) was pressed during the 4th week of 1999 (PAR 904 instead of DLX 904), while my copy of "It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown" (a Peanuts Home Video/Paramount release) was pressed during the 37th week of 1999 (DLX 937). I also own a copy of "Chuckie the Brave" (also a Nickelodeon Video/Paramount release) that was pressed during the 34th week of 1999 (DLX 934).

The * indicates that the tape had a spine label when I got it, but I peeled it off to see if there was a printing underneath. The ** indicates that I can't remember if the tape had a spine label when I got it or not.

In mid-1998, what was the latest known use of the "RVSA" VBI codes and the earliest known use of the "DELUXE" VBI codes?

69.85.235.45 16:52, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

The latest RVSA that I detected was on my 1998 copy of Raiders of the Lost Ark (RVSA61, 24th Week of 1998) and the earliest DELUXE that I detected was on one of my copies of Blue's Clues: Arts and Crafts (DELUXE67, 23rd Week of 1998). These respective code prefixes could have possibly been earlier or later than these. --TheVideoLover (talk) 00:23, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

Well, speaking of Paramount, does your copy of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" have the silver seal sticker or the white sticker with the blue logo? 2601:4C4:4000:A8C0:108F:5740:F783:9A39 00:55, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

So when I was watching the beginning of this video, I actually saw a different VBI code that somehow said "RVSA\PVI" on the left, instead of the common "BHCP" codes. So this leads me to think that it probably won’t have the white screen test pattern at the end at all. 47.17.104.88 16:12, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

And this led me to think that it must have been by a different duplicator. --TheVideoLover (talk) 21:33, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

I saw a reply from YouTube user Alex's Media Openings (who did said video, on a comment mentioning it could be from a different duplicator), and as it turns out, it was. The week-year code is on the left side and it does not have a barcode on the lid, so this leads me to think it was Premiere Video all along. The "RVSA\PVI" VBI Code
