:Another thing I have heard before is that Rankin/Bass' "The Hobbit" (part of the post-1974 Rankin/Bass library when Rankin/Bass was a division of Telepictures Corporation; later merged to form Lorimar-Telepictures in 1986 and later folded into Warner Bros. in 1989) was released by numerous PD-based labels/distributors, such as Peter Pan Industries, and MNTEX Entertainment (the latter which was distributed at the time by Video Treasures). On the print that the MNTEX release used, the white looked more pinkish (likely due to the deterioration of the film print as a result of possible usage of cheap low-cost film stock).
