History

Samuel Goldwyn Home Entertainment is the home entertainment arm of The Samuel Goldwyn Company. It was originally formed in 1981.

The company's first client was CBS Video Enterprises, who would go on to merge with 20th Century-Fox Video to form The CBS/Fox Company. Other companies used the SGHE label for titles licensed out to other home video distributors from Goldwyn, most notably Embassy Home Entertainment and HBO Video.

In 1994, the label found a permanent home, Hallmark Home Entertainment and its sublabel Evergreen Entertainment. The label shut down after Goldwyn had folded into Orion Pictures.
