Samuel Goldwyn Home Entertainment was the home video licensing arm of The Samuel Goldwyn Company, originally formed in 1981. Its first licensee was CBS Video Enterprises, who would go on to merge with 20th Century-Fox Video to form The CBS/Fox Company. Several other home video distributors would follow suit, most notably Embassy Home Entertainment, HBO Video and Vestron Video.
By the beginning of 1995, Hallmark Home Entertainment became the primary marketer of this label's newer releases. The label eventually shut down in 1997 after Goldwyn was acquired by Metromedia when the deal with Hallmark lapsed.
These do not contain any Goldwyn logo on the packaging, nor the notice "Licensed by Samuel Goldwyn Home Entertainment", but are considered to have been licensed through the arm anyway.
Originally distributed by Joseph Brenner Associates.
Previously available from Prism Entertainment and Starmaker Entertainment.
The notice referring to Goldwyn on the back of the sleeve says "A Samuel Goldwin Production". This is particularly despite the fact that Goldwyn never originally co-produced the film and only recently, at the time of this release, acquired the rights to it.
