Penthouse Video

From Home Video

History[edit]

Penthouse Video made its origins back in 1983 when Penthouse partnered with Vestron Video to produce many titles based on Penthouse, aiming to compete with the Playboy video line. The video line went dormant in 1988.

In 1991, the video label was revived, with a deal at A*Vision Entertainment (later WarnerVision Entertainment). Penthouse became a challenger to Playboy in home video sales during the 1990s in popularity. In 1999, Penthouse switched distribution to Image Entertainment, who begin distributing Playboy titles two years later.

In 2006, distribution of Penthouse's titles stopped as Penthouse begin switching to a hardcore format.
