Koch Entertainment

From Home Video

History[edit]

Koch Entertainment first entered the home video market in the mid-1990s in Canada when it secured deals with Full Moon Features and World Wrestling Federation Home Video to distribute their titles for the Canadian market.

This was expanded in 1999, when Koch formed a U.S.-based home video label Koch Vision, to sell and market VHS tapes for the North American market. The Canadian video arm also adopted the Koch Vision brand for a brief time.

In 2003, Koch Vision partnered with Lorber Media, to form the Koch Lorber Films line. In 2005, Koch Entertainment was sold to Entertainment One. In the late 2000s, Koch and Lorber Media split up, with Lorber beginning to distribute titles on its own under Lorber HT Digital, and Koch Vision released the films alone.

In 2009, the Koch name was phased out, and all divisions adopted the E1 Entertainment name.
