Hallmark Home Entertainment

Hallmark Home Entertainment was a subsidiary of Hallmark Entertainment that was originally formed in early 1995 by Steven Beaks, former executive of Republic Pictures Home Video. The company's first client it signed was Samuel Goldwyn Home Entertainment. Before that, Hallmark had pre-existing contracts with Republic Pictures and RHI, which did not expire until 1996.
The company also launched a subsidiary, Evergreen Entertainment, which was dedicated to titles outside of Hallmark's traditional family fare. In 1996, Hallmark terminated its agreement with Goldwyn when Metromedia announced plans to acquire The Samuel Goldwyn Company.
In 1997, it secured a distribution deal with Live Entertainment, and in 1998, purchased competing distributor Cabin Fever Entertainment. The Hallmark Home Entertainment name was phased out in 2004.
