How to Tell

  • VHS tapes that were duplicated by Cinram International have a print date on the bottom middle side of the tape, where the end label would be, and the print date is made with invisible ink, making the print date barely visible. Also, the date is read in the YY/MM/DD format.
  • On some VHS tapes, there is an engraving on the right side of the tape that says "CVC". This unusual abbreviation possibly refers to either Cinram Video Corporation (in US locations), Cinram Video Canada (in Canadian locations) or both.
