Buena Vista Home Entertainment

Buena Vista Home Entertainment was originally formed in Q1 1983 as Buena Vista Home Video. It was a stand-alone video label of distributor Walt Disney Telecommunications and Non-Theatrical Company that generally issued third-party content. The label's first products were titles from Bill Burrud Productions and Henson Associates; the latter whose titles were issued under the Muppet Home Video imprint.

From its establishment in 1983 to December 1997 when it was renamed to its current name, Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, Inc. (formerly Buena Vista Distribution Co., Inc.) was credited as the copyright holder for the label.
