Events

  • June 15: DVD rentals first topped those of VHS.
  • July: Best Buy stopped selling VHS tapes its' stores.
  • Warner Home Video started to release titles on DVD without a VHS counterpart, but only in the case of special editions and DVD Box Sets of TV Shows.
