York Entertainment

From Home Video

History[edit]

The origins of York Entertainment originated in 1990 as a film production company called York Pictures, headed by production assistant Tanya York. It was expanded in 1992 when York founded its own home video division York Home Video. Most of the output were generally low budget B-movies.

In 1998, York partnered with Maverick Entertainment Group, whereas York and Maverick co-marketed and co-distributed each other's titles. It lasted until 2002, when York went onto its own again.

In late 1999, the company was rebranded under the York Entertainment name, and the York Pictures and York Home Video names disappeared. In 2004, the company was sold to Loose Cannon Films.
