Virgin Vision
History
[edit]This US and Canadian home video arm of Virgin Group Ltd. was formed in 1988. Previously, in 1987, Virgin Video released some of its titles in the US and Canada through Continental Video. After this arm was officially founded, all of its further releases were distributed directly by the company in the US and distributed in Canada by Cineplex Odeon Video. In 1989, Branson sold Virgin's video arms to Jonathan D. Krane's Management Company Entertainment Group, which resulted in the merger of both this label and Forum Home Video to form M.C.E.G. Virgin Home Entertainment. The company closed its doors in 1990, after filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
