How to Tell[edit]

  • Tapes from this duplicator had a white sticker on the tape guard which had a print date, and the information on it was formatted like this for example:

MOONSTRUCK SCREENING

04/26/88 6962-1

12 145 D

  • Some tapes from VidAmerica had a blue sticker on the bottom spine, which had information on it like this for example:

STANLEY

P.O. 1521

  • Later tapes usually had dark printings on the spine like the following examples:

Example 1 (from Giant Robo):

T60 EG25P05311G 02 : 21

Example 2 (from an issue of Inside Country Music):

T105 EG23A09002D 08 : 44 #53972

Example 3 (from Unseen Journey):

T70 EG64D07115D 12 : 13 #58871

  • One known tape also had a white stamping on the left side of the tape, like the example in the picture below next to a picture of the example of the dark printings.
  • Some tapes with the dark printings, namely those duplicated in Dallas, did not have the five digit number that normally followed the time stamp.
  • Tapes duplicated here did not have anything in the vertical blanking interval.
  • One known tape of Outlanders had a silent white screen test pattern at the end.
