:Another thing I have heard before is that Rankin/Bass' "The Hobbit" was released by numerous PD-based labels/distributors, such as Peter Pan Industries, and MNTEX Entertainment (the latter which was distributed at the time by Video Treasures). On the print that the MNTEX release used, the white looked more pinkish (likely due to the deterioration of the film print as a result of possible usage of cheap low-cost film stock).
