I own several VHS releases from Paramount Home Entertainment (originally known as Paramount Home Video; formerly known as Paramount Home Media Distribution). They are:

- the 1996 VHS release of "Rugrats: Chuckie the Brave" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Mine was packaged in the 1998 cover, and it uses the 1999 horizontal sticker label on the front of the cassette shell, which I could tell the label was made in 1999 because of the byline "A VIACOM COMPANY" below the Paramount logo at the top left corner of the label, but it reuses the 1998 date for the Paramount Pictures copyright anyway (the 1998 label would not have had the Viacom byline and neither would have the 1996 label). Cassette shell and tape guard are Nickelodeon-style orange, but the release button is black. Dark ink number on the cassette spine appears to say 14, but is partially worn, making it hard to tell. Printed/pressed during the 34th week of 1999 (DLX 934); duplicated in EP/SLP mode. White screen test pattern with 1000hz sine-wave tone at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen.

- the 1996 VHS release of "Rugrats: The Santa Experience" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Mine was packaged in the 2000 cover, and it uses the 2000 horizontal sticker label on the front of the cassette shell. Dark ink number on the cassette spine says 139. Cassette shell and tape guard are black. Printed/pressed during the 38th week of 2001 (DLX 138); duplicated in SP mode. Because of this tape being in SP mode while having been printed/pressed in 2001, there is nothing at the end after the end of the program material itself.

- the 1996 VHS release of "Top Gun" (1986). My copy had a strip label on the cassette spine, but I peeled it off to get to the number that's printed in dark ink (said number says 59). Printed/pressed during the 36th week of 1996 (PAR 636).

- the 1997 VHS release of "Rugrats: Tommy Troubles" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Reuses the original 1996 cover and face label. The Hi-Fi Playback notice / ISBN / UPC code printed directly on the back is white, but has been plastered over with a yellow sticker version of this piece of information. Cassette shell and tape guard are Nickelodeon-style orange, but the release button is black. Dark ink number on the cassette spine says 81. Printed/pressed during the 26th week of 1997 (PAR 726); duplicated in EP/SLP mode. White screen test pattern with 1000hz sine-wave tone at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen.

- the 1997 VHS release of "Rugrats: Return of Reptar" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Cassette shell and tape guard are Nickelodeon-style orange, but the release button is black. My copy had a strip label on the cassette spine, but I peeled it off because I thought there was something underneath the label (as it turns out, there wasn't). The dark ink number is on the left side of the cassette shell rather than the cassette spine and says 19. Assembled presumably on April 15, 1997 (0415; the last four digits of the barcode sticker on the tape guard), during the 16th week of that year and printed/pressed sometime during that week (PAR 716); duplicated in EP/SLP mode. White screen test pattern with 1000hz sine-wave tone at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen, which then cuts to a quarter-minute black screen with the "pull-my-finger" blare at the very end (The blare is only audible in the linear track even though this tape was technically encoded with Hi-Fi). I was half-surprised to find out that the black screen with the blare at the very end of this tape was in SP mode, due to the fact that this tape was technically in EP/SLP.

- the 1997 VHS release of "Rugrats: A Rugrats Vacation" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Mine was packaged in the original 1997 cover. Cassette shell and tape guard are Nickelodeon-style orange, but the release button is black. My copy had a strip label on the cassette spine, but I peeled it off to get to the number that's printed in dark ink (said number says 86). Printed/pressed during the 26th week of 1997 (PAR 726); duplicated in EP/SLP mode. White screen test pattern with 1000hz sine-wave tone at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen.

- the 1997 VHS release of "It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown" (1992) (released under the Peanuts Home Video line). Mine was still packaged in the 1996 cover. Tape itself uses the 1999 horizontal sticker label on the front of the cassette shell. Dark ink number on the cassette spine says 58. Printed/pressed during the 37th week of 1999 (DLX 937). Strangely, this tape had the 1989 distorted version of the 1987 Paramount Television fanfare played over the 1995 Paramount closing logo at the end.

- the 1997 VHS release of "Rugrats: A Rugrats Thanksgiving" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Cassette shell and tape guard are Nickelodeon-style orange, but the release button is black. Dark ink number on the cassette spine says 81. Printed/pressed during the 40th week of 1998 (PAR 840); duplicated in EP/SLP mode. White screen test pattern with 1000hz sine-wave tone at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen.

- the 1998 VHS release of "Rugrats: Dr. Tommy Pickles" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). My copy is a Canadian-distributed copy (I don't even live there, I live in the U.S.). Cassette shell and tape guard are Nickelodeon-style orange, but the release button is black. Invisible ink printings on the cassette spine, but only the title and catalog number are in the printings (No print/press date whatsover for some reason) and they're shifted all the way to the right of the spine. Duplicated in EP/SLP mode. Static roll at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen, which then cuts back to the static roll at the very end. I was half-surprised to find out that this tape uses the videotaped versions of the 1995 Paramount opening and closing logos instead of the standard filmed versions.

- the 1998 VHS release of "Rugrats: Mommy Mania" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Cassette shell and tape guard are Nickelodeon-style orange, but the release button is black. Dark ink number on the cassette spine says 88 (I think). Printed/pressed during the 10th week of 1998 (PAR 810); duplicated in EP/SLP mode. White screen test pattern with 1000hz sine-wave tone at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen.

- the 1998 VHS release of "Rugrats: Angelica Knows Best" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Cassette shell and tape guard are Nickelodeon-style orange, but the release button is black. Dark ink number on the cassette spine says 81. Printed/pressed during the 4th week of 1999 (PAR 904); duplicated in EP/SLP mode. White screen test pattern with 1000hz sine-wave tone at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen.

- the 1998 VHS boxset "Rugrats: A Rugrats Passover / A Rugrats Chanukah" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Both tapes use Nickelodeon-style orange cassette shells and were duplicated in EP/SLP mode.

- "A Rugrats Passover" uses the 1998 horizontal sticker label on the front of the cassette shell and reuses the 1996 master and the dark ink number on the cassette spine says 58. It was printed/pressed during the 5th week of 1999 (PAR 905) and has the white screen test pattern with 1000hz sine-wave tone at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen.

- "A Rugrats Chanukah" is a Canadian-distributed copy, uses the 1997 cover, label and master, and was printed/pressed on September 24, 1999 (990924) and it has the static roll at the end, which cuts to a fullscreen static screen, which then cuts back to the static roll at the very end.

- the 2001 VHS release of "Rugrats: All Growed Up" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Printed/pressed during the 34th week of 2003 (DLX 334); duplicated in SP mode. My copy was recycled from a copy of an unknown Paramount VHS tape that uses a black cassette shell and black tape guard, and was printed/pressed during the 32nd week of 1998 (PAR 832). Dark ink number on the cassette spine says 51.

- the 2005 VHS release of "All Grown Up!: Dude, Where's My Horse?" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). To my partial surprise, my copy is a Canadian-distributed copy, though it was printed/pressed in the U.S. (according to the notation watermark printed in blue on the shrinkwrap over the back of the cover which said "Made in USA" in English and French). Cassette shell and tape guard are black. Tape reels are also black. Uses horizontal silkscreen-inked label on the front of the cassette shell, printed/pressed on June 16, 2005 (061605). "PHE" is engraved in black on the right side of the cassette shell. "TTGNIC" is moulded on the back right of the shell.

- the 2005 VHS release of "Rugrats Tales from the Crib: Snow White" (released under the Nickelodeon Video line). Cassette shell and tape guard are black. Uses horizontal sticker label on the front of the cassette shell, printed/pressed on September 2, 2005 (090205).

Also, I used to own plenty of DVD releases from Paramount Home Entertainment. Mainly Nick Jr. titles (including pre-2008 ones released under the Nick Jr. Video line before Nickelodeon Video was renamed to Nickelodeon Home Entertainment in 2007 with the Nick Jr. Video line being folded as a result, and some post-2008 ones), such as these (All of these I don't think I own anymore):

- the 2003 DVD releases of "Dora the Explorer: Map Adventures", "Dora the Explorer City of Lost Toys", "Dora the Explorer: Rhymes and Riddles", "Dora the Explorer: Cowgirl Dora", "Dora the Explorer: Meet Diego" and "Blue's Clues: Shapes and Colors"

- the 2004 DVD releases of "Blue's Clues: Classic Clues", "Dora the Explorer: Dora's Pirate Adventure", "Dora the Explorer: Super Silly Fiesta" and "Dora the Explorer: Dora's Fairytale Adventure" (My copy of the "Dora's Fairytale Adventure" DVD was packaged in the 2012 cover.)

- A few Blue's Room titles (Can't remember which ones, though.)

- the 2005 DVD releases of "Dora the Explorer: Catch the Stars", "Dora the Explorer: It's a Party", "Dora the Explorer: Super Babies" and "Dora the Explorer: Dance to the Rescue"

- the 2006 DVD releases of "Blue's Clues: Blue's Biggest Stories", "Dora the Explorer: Save the Day!", "Dora the Explorer: We're a Team", and "Dora the Explorer: World Adventure!". I believe I owned the 2006 releases of "Dora the Explorer: Dora's Halloween" and "Dora the Explorer: Dora's Christmas" (both releases initially distributed exclusively in Canada; the original DVD releases were released in 2004) as well (my copies of both were printed/pressed in the US and packaged in 2009 covers, the former DVD with the Nickelodeon splat logo and the latter DVD with the newer Nickelodeon logo.)

- the 2007 DVD releases of "Dora the Explorer: Musical School Days", "Dora the Explorer: Shy Rainbow", "Dora the Explorer: Summer Explorer", and "Dora the Explorer: Puppy Power"

- the 2008 DVD releases of "Dora the Explorer: Undercover Dora", "Sleepytime Stories" and "Yo Gabba Gabba!: The Dancey Dance Bunch", as well as the 2008 DVD release of "Dora the Explorer: Egg Hunt" (this release was initially distributed exclusively in Canada; the original was released in 2004) (my copy of the "Egg Hunt" Canadian DVD was printed/pressed in the US and packaged in the 2009 cover with the Nickelodeon splat logo)

- the 2008 DVD boxset "Dora's Out-of-this-World Adventures", consisting of these DVDs:

- the 2008 DVD release of "Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess"

- the 2007 DVD release of "Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Mermaids"

- the 2006 DVD release of "Dora the Explorer: World Adventure"

- the 2009 DVD releases of "Celebrate Family", "Dora the Explorer: Super Babies' Dream Adventure", "Yo Gabba Gabba!: New Friends" and "Yo Gabba Gabba!: Halloween"

- the 2011 DVD release of "Nick Jr. Favorites: Merry Christmas!"

I currently own these DVDs:

- the 2003 DVD releases of "Rugrats: Mysteries" and "All Grown Up!: Growing Up Changes Everything"

- the 2011 DVD set "The Rugrats Trilogy Movie Collection". My copy of the set is a much later pressing that was packaged in the 2017 cover. I purchased this set from a Walmart in March 2024. According to the sticker placed on the top of the plastic seal wrap over the front, my copy of the set was shipped to the Walmart I purchased it from in October 2023. It also had the notation "Disc(s) Made in Germany" inked over the back. It consists of these DVDs:

- "The Rugrats Movie" (reuses the contents of the 1999 release)

- "Rugrats in Paris: The Movie" (reuses the contents of the 2001 release)

- "Rugrats Go Wild" (reuses the contents of the 2003 release)

- the 2018 DVD set "Rugrats Favorites Vol. 1" (Even though this is the only Rugrats Favorites set title that was ever released as of right now). My copy has the notation "DISC MADE IN MEXICO" inked on the back. It consists of these DVDs:

- a 2002 DVD entitled "Rugrats: Decade in Diapers (Collector's Edition)"

- the 2005 DVD release of "Rugrats Tales from the Crib: Snow White"

- the 2006 DVD release of "Rugrats Tales from the Crib: Three Jacks and a Beanstalk"

Distribution in Canada

Did Paramount Home Entertainment (formerly known as Paramount Home Video) outsource distribution in Canada to one or more other companies at one point? (after a brief sub-licensing stint there with Astral Video that is) Or did they always self-distribute their product there? 69.85.235.45 16:23, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
