How to Tell[edit]

  • Some tapes from the early 90's had a set of seven numbers printed in white on the side of the tape (e.g. 3196053).
  • A few early Feature Films for Families tapes from this duplicator instead had a set of five or six numbers in dark red ink (e.g. 109197 or 25129), sometimes on the bottom spine.
  • Sometimes, the string of white numbers was longer (e.g. 31 61024943017).
  • Some of the last tapes to use printings like the above had them in white on the bottom middle side (e.g. OVP3325 or OVP3326).
  • Some tapes from this duplicator had the static roll of death at the end.
  • Some copies of Against a Crooked Sky, In Your Wildest Dreams, and The Little Fox, as well as some Simitar Entertainment tapes duplicated here said "OVP" on the face label.
  • Later tapes, beginning sometime in late 1994, had white printings like the following examples:

Example 1:

CALL WILD PT. #8106669 08/10 OVP

Example 2:

DIABOLIQUE #4128 5/96 OVP

Example 3:

OV 8100167 G TRAV.10/19/94

  • Some other tapes, however, such as some copies of Scamper the Penguin, did not have any form of printing on the cassette.
  • Tapes duplicated here do not have anything in the vertical blanking interval.
