A couple of months after the Masterpiece Collection was discontinued in late 1999, Disney launched a new video line of live-action/animation hybrid and fully-animated feature films in January 2000, called the Gold Classic Collection, or simply known as the Gold Collection. The line only ran for a year and four months. Unfortunately, as a result of too many titles in the line being released all at once, the line itself was discontinued around late 2001.
The on-screen logo contained a gold stripe with the word "GOLD" in red on the left, the word "COLLECTION" on the right, and a red circle with the gold Sleeping Beauty castle and the word "CLASSIC" below the castle in gold color placed between the red words, and had the same fanfare as on the 1991 gold WDHV logo.
Most releases in the line, prior to late 2000, contained the same set of previews at the beginning, including a trailer for the then-recent direct-to-video film, The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea. In addition, the releases of Mulan and Pinocchio in this line went into moratorium on January 31, 2002, while Toy Story went into moratorium on May 1, 2003.
This list covers all the Gold Classic Collection titles released from the range, as well as similar releases after the discontinuation of the line.
Part of the Gold Classic Collection series (2000-2001)[edit]
NOTICE: Because all releases in the series contain new stock numbers, issue numbers are not listed.
The cover artworks on the following two releases were re-used from their Masterpiece Collection counterparts, albeit modified with references to the Gold Classic Collection line.

Contains the short subject, "Ye Olden Days" (1933), at the end.
1991 colorized version of the short. The colorization for this print was supplied by American Film Technologies.
Despite the back of the cover on this issue advertising the behind-the-scenes documentary You Can Fly!: The Making of Peter Pan as a bonus feature, it's unknown whether or not there were some copies that actually contained the documentary at the end, since most known copies instead contained a trailer for Peter Pan: Return to Neverland.
