→May 1997: Seeing as how PHV would discontinue spine labels in late June 1997, I'm wondering if RVSA started doing the left-hand side VBI codes in late April.

These re-issues were exclusively duplicated and distributed in the U.S. Beginning in the beginning of this month, duplicator Rank Video Services America phased out the 18-digit barcode stickers in favor of the then-standard ones with four sets each of 6-digit codes and began using codes on the left-hand of the vertical blanking intervals consisting of the first three, four, five or six digits from the barcode stickers on the tapes (without the extra zeros in front of them) and five other digits.
