In 1986, the company launched an educational division, '''Golden Step Ahead''' for educational material, and in 1987, Golden Book Video launched the '''GoldenVision''' label for general entertainment programming.
 
In 1991, the company bought out Hi-Tops Video from Heron Communications, and merged it into Golden Book Video, alongside the GoldenVision branch. The name was retired in 1996, when Golden Books acquired Broadway Video's family entertainment division, and became '''Golden Books Family Entertainment'''.
