Congress Video Group
History
[edit]Congress Video Group was founded by Richard E. Burke, former aide to Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA), as Memory Lane Video. Initially a division of Memory Lane Music, it was later spun off in 1986. The company sold its duplication facilities to Allied Film and Video in 1988 and duplicated its tapes there for the rest of its existence. By 1991, it was absorbed by United American Video Corporation. While most of its releases were of public domain material, the company, in its later years, forayed mostly into sub-licensed fare, mostly from HBO Video.
