[edit]- January 17: Disney dropped the Fox name from longtime film studio 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight Pictures and renamed them to 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures, respectively.
- April 3: BelN Media sold its interest in Miramax to ViacomCBS, and as a result, Paramount took over home video rights to Miramax's titles for the first time since 1993.
- June 30: The MGM home video distribution pact with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment expired as a result of Fox's sale to Disney, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment begins distributing the titles for the first time since 1999.
