[edit]- January: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment secured a deal with Genius Brands International to acquire a stake in the company.
- January 11: Home video distributor Echo Bridge Home Entertainment has been sold to producer Steven Paul via SP Media.
- January 13: After the formation of Neon, the company secured a home video distribution deal with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
- April 18: Warner's deal with Morgan Creek Productions regarding the pre-2005 titles, and Universal's deal with Morgan Creek Productions regarding the post-2005 titles have been expired, resulting in most of them moving to Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
- July 11: Annapurna Pictures secured a home video distribution deal with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
- October 27: FUNimation was sold to Sony Pictures Television. As a result, distribution rights to future FUNimation titles shifted from Universal to Sony.
- Warner's deal regarding the Paramount titles have been expired, thus resulting in Paramount distributing most of the catalog titles again.
