  • January 26: Palm Pictures secured a deal with Lions Gate Home Entertainment for most of its live-action library.
  • April 6: After its prior agreement with Lions Gate expired, NBC secured deals with various video distributors, such as MGM and A&E.
  • April 22: Viacom acquired the entirely of Comedy Central from AOL Time Warner. All future Comedy Central releases were distributed by Paramount.
  • June 7: OptiDisc Solutions LLC acquired Bonneville Duplication.
