Question

I have seen a rumor on YouTube that the later pressings of the 1988 DuckTales VHS volume, “High-Flying Hero”, from 1989, have the Mini-Classics logo after the Sorcerer Mickey WDHV logo, but sadly I haven’t seen any proof or reference that it’s real. Is there any proof about the later copies of this volume having the Mini-Classics logo, or as I’m suspecting, is it just made up/fake? Winnie-the-Pooh Titles with Proof of Purchase Tab Label

In order for the VHS releases of the four WTP featurettes to have the generic Helvetica font Proof of Purchase tab-label (or the Times font on "The Blustery Day"), what is the earliest print date to do so?

I saw a factory-sealed copy of "The Honey Tree", with the Proof of Purchase tab label. The barcode sticker states it shipped May 1, 1991. I have proof here.

So, what would be the earliest print date for a Winnie The Pooh featurette Mini-Classics tape to have the generic Helvetica-font Proof-of-Purchase tab label? 69.85.235.46 18:55, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

The Small One

The only ink-label I saw for "The Small One" was the vertical ink-label from either 1994 or 1995. So, where’s the proof they released a horizontal ink-label of this in 1992? 2601:4C4:4000:A8C0:7D6D:79B9:B94B:45C7 14:46, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

That vertical ink label with the strange warning font on the label definitely had to have been 1994, because on eBay I just saw a copy of “The Dark Crystal” 1994 VHS with the same warning font on the label, and the print date appears to read either the 18th, or 19th of August 1994. The Prince and the Pauper

Later copies of "The Prince and the Pauper" 1991 VHS (I’m guessing after fall 1991) had the Mini-Classics logo, placed between the end of the film and the promo, and the copyright notice, after the promo, at the end. Once Upon a Mouse

If they ever released the documentary film, Once Upon a Mouse (1981) on VHS in North America, it would probably have been released in this series, and the release date would probably have been September 20, 1991, the same date when The Rescuers Down Under came out on home video in the Black Diamond Classics series. And the contents would probably go like this:

Opening:

1. Red-orange warning screens (1984-1991)
2. Walt Disney Home Video logo (1986-2001) ("Sorcerer Mickey")
3. Walt Disney Mini-Classics logo (1988-1993)
4. Buena Vista Distribution Company logo (1979-1984)

Closing:

1. Walt Disney Home Video logo (1986-2001) (fade-shortened, with Brian Cummings saying, "Now on Walt Disney Home Video.")
2. The Rescuers Down Under video preview

The tape itself would probably have either a horizontal ink-label or a vertical sticker-label, with the Mini-Classics logo and the Sorcerer Mickey next to the WDHV logo on the label, and there would probably be three different versions of the print master.

Version A would probably be copies printed before June 1991 with the second warning screen (the Licensed for Private Home Exhibition Only screen) being an outlined text variant, in which the text doesn’t fade in until after the background itself does.

Version B would probably be copies printed between June-August 1991 with the regular variant of the red-orange warning screens.

Version C would probably be copies printed after August 1991 with the Goudy Old Style font variant of the red-orange warning screens.

You Will Not Believe What I Bought Today

Almost an hour ago, I’ve bought the 1991 VHS of "The Reluctant Dragon (Short Version)." It was factory sealed when I got it (I believe), then I opened it, and it had two inserts inside - a light blue video booklet advertising "The Magic Years" and miscellaneous releases, and a business reply mail card with the red text on it, and "Walt Disney CARTOONS" on the back.

The tape itself still uses the 1988 Betamax style sticker label. However, underneath the label appears to be another sticker label that appears to have already been torn off, implying my copy is a recycled printing (I have no idea what tape mine was recycled off of).

My copy was duplicated at Technicolor Videocassette, like most Disney tapes were, and has two dates on the spine — the manufacture date in dark ink on the bottom half of mine is March 27, 1992 (with a time code next to it reading 1802, implying 06:02 PM), while the grey ink print date on the top half is March 31, 1992.

So far I’ve only checked the opening to my copy, and it is indeed the 1991 VHS re-issue. Opened with the Goudy Old Style red orange warnings, but after that, there’s no 1986 Sorcerer Mickey WDHV logo; it goes straight to the 1988 Mini-Classics logo, and then the short itself starts. I might check the closing either tomorrow or in a couple of hours.
