History[edit]

The company was originally formed in 1983 by George Atkinson as Program Hunters. The company mainly distributed independent product, mainly low-budget pictures. In 1985, it was renamed to World Video Pictures and the following year, it was acquired by Western-World Television, and it was initially renamed to World Video Inc., then Western World Video. After the acquisition, the company started offering product from Western World Television, as well as Spanish-language titles. In 1988, the company went defunct, with most of its titles being moved to other distributors.
