'''Media Home Entertainment''' was originally formed in 1978 by Charles Band to distribute its titles on videocassette. In 1980, Band left the company to start out [[Wizard Video]].
In late 1983, the company was sold to Heron Communications, and in 1984, MHE purchased [[The Nostalgia Merchant]]
The company stroke big in 1985, when it partnered with Cannon Films, whereas Media would distribute its Cannon library onto videocassette. Also that year, the company begin using the alias "Luna Video" for distribution of Private Screenings' titles.
