This list covers all the titles in the Little Bear franchise released on video beginning in 1997.
These titles were exclusively marketed and distributed in the US. While mass-market releases were marketed by Paramount Home Entertainment, many sought-after releases were marketed for mail-order distribution by Reader's Digest Young Families, itself a sub-division of Reader's Digest Home Entertainment.
This release was one of the first Nickelodeon home video releases overall to use a wavy orange bacon on the far top corner of the front and spines of the cover.
Some rare copies may have been duplicated in EP/SLP mode; most copies were duplicated in SP mode.
This was the final new release from Paramount Home Entertainment, let alone the final new Nickelodeon home video release, with the notation "Duplicated in EP/SLP" printed above Paramount Pictures' address, the "Licensed for Sale" notation and the Paramount Pictures copyright notice on the back of the cover.
In December 2009, Canadian distributor Phase 4 Films acquired the US and Canadian home entertainment rights to some of Nelvana's library, including the Canadian home entertainment rights to the Little Bear television series. These titles were released under the company's children's division label, kaBOOM! Entertainment.
Released by Paramount Home Entertainment. In addition to the US, this release was also available in Canada.
The only mass-market video release of the franchise without the Nickelodeon or Nick Jr. branding; however, some copies of this release use orange cassettes.
The television series and the direct-to-video film were produced by Nelvana, itself a Canadian animation studio, in association with Wild Things Productions, which holds the copyrights and trademark rights to the franchise's name, characters and original story.
In addition, the television series was co-produced with Nickelodeon's preschool television production arm, Nick Jr. Productions. Thus, Nickelodeon holds exclusive US distribution rights to the series, while Nelvana holds the copyrights and worldwide distribution rights to the series.
