Introduced in the fall of 1986 to coincide with Disney's Bring Disney Home for Good promotion, headlined by the Classics video release of ''Sleeping Beauty'', most episodes of the first three waves of this series were produced in association with TV is OK Productions, a company co-founded by the series' co-creators Phil Savenick and Harry D. Arends, with the exception of some live-action episodes, which were produced by Gregory Sills, and the episode ''The Twelve Days of Christmas'', which was produced in association with Freedman/Lippert Productions, whereas all episodes of the fourth and final wave of the series, except for the remake of the episode ''Very Merry Christmas Songs'', were produced in association with 3Oh!5 Creative.

== Wave One (1986-1989) ==
Line 12:
* Released in honor of the 40th anniversary of the full-length feature film, "Song of the South."
** Also released only a month and a week before the last theatrical re-release of the film on November 21, 1986.
* This was the first of the only three North American video releasesvideos to contain clips from "Song of the South". Starting in December 2001, the film was permanently withdrawn and banned worldwide, because today's society considers the portrayal of African Americans in the film as "racist and offensive."
* Hosted by Professor Owl.

Line 182:
* During the promo at the end of the video, the promo itself was updated to show this title and "Disneyland Fun", making this title the only one in the series to use this version of the promo.
** However, on copies printed at Technicolor Videocassette in California, this title is wrongly referred to as volume 8, when that volume was actually "Very Merry Christmas Songs". Copies printed at Technicolor Videocassette in Livonia have the fixed version of the promo, where this title is correctly referred to as volume 9.
* This was the second of the only three North American video releasesvideos to contain clips from "Song of the South". Starting in December 2001, the film was permanently withdrawn and banned worldwide, due to the portrayal of African Americans in the film being racist and offensive.
** Contains the song, "Everybody Has a Laughing Place" from the film.

Re-issues in this batch were exclusively duplicated at Technicolor Videocassette in Livonia and New York City.

Line 307:

* In the title logo at the beginning, the audio clip used is the last few seconds of the instrumental version of "Friend Like Me".
* This was the third and final of the only three North American video releasesvideos to contain clips from "Song of the South". Starting in December 2001, the film was permanently withdrawn and banned worldwide, due to the portrayal of African Americans in the film being racist and offensive.
** Contains the song, "How Do You Do?" from the film.
|-
Line 370:
* Some early copies still used the 1992 horizontal ink label.
* Issue no. 935-3, due to a typo.
