Talk:Other VHS endings
Add topicSpeaking of the static roll, not only is it sometimes called the "static roll of death", but it used to be nicknamed the "strange VHS ending".
One user on YouTube commented on the "Strange VHS Ending" video that showed the static roll at the end of a copy of the 1993 "Rugrats: A Baby's Gotta Do What a Baby's Gotta Do" [this tape was named after Rugrats character Tommy Pickles' catchphrase BTW for those who didn't know] VHS from Sony Wonder (then a division of Sony Music Entertainment, Inc.), saying "How was that a strange VHS ending? Looks like the tape was warped in that one spot." This is the video I'm referring to: "Proof That My 1993 VHS Of Rugrats: A Baby's Gotta Do What A Baby's Gotta Do Has A Strange VHS Ending", uploaded by a user who apparently currently goes by the name of Sonic the Hedgehog.
I wonder how videotape duplication firms, including HMG/Allied Digital Technologies Corporation, Central de Video and Cinram Video Center (CVC; a division of Cinram International, Inc.), had implemented the usage of this kind of test signal on certain videotapes (In order words, what kinds of testing equipment did they use to achieve this?).
