Talk:Kids Klassics
Add topicHarvey Comics Releases (Sub-Licensed by Worldvision Home Video)[edit]
At one point, in the late 1980s, just a few years until Worldvision Enterprises lost the distribution rights to the library of Harvey Comics's Harvey Films subsidiary (reverting those rights to Harvey themselves), Kids Klassics issued some VHS tapes spun off from the library, namely Baby Huey, Buzzy the Funny Crow and Casper the Friendly Ghost titles.
Bizarrely enough, those releases, unlike the earlier releases done solely by Worldvision, mention Hanna-Barbera Productions, Inc. in the copyright notices on both the backs of the sleeves and the cassette face labels. Here's proof. I wonder if H-B being mentioned on these was a typo. (They did produce at least one special spun off from Casper, along with television series spun off from both Casper and Richie Rich, in the late 1970s, and quite obviously, at this point, Worldvision still held distribution rights to the H-B library because the two companies were still owned by Great American Broadcasting (formerly known as Taft Broadcasting), but that does not change the possibility that them being mentioned on these Kids Klassics Harvey releases could have been a typo.)
