The Jupiter Menace is one of the weirdest documentary movies Thorn EMI/HBO had the home video rights to, because of several reasons:

Some people may have been under the belief that this was a real sci-fi movie, even though it appears to be just a pseudo science movie.
Not much is known about Celebrity Releasing, the company that presumably released the movie theatrically, and I'm pretty sure Jupiter Menace, Ltd., the copyright holder listed at the end of the closing credits to the movie, was just a shell entity of Celebrity Releasing or something.
Another edition of the movie on VHS was released in 1991 on Burbank Video / Video Treasures. Strangely enough, Amazon.com claims that HBO Video reissued the Thorn EMI VHS the same year, but it is currently unknown.

At some point this month, I probably plan to get the 1991 Burbank Video / Video Treasures VHS of this movie.
