Talk:Active Home Video
Add topicThis label was based in California (first Beverly Hills, then Los Angeles). It has been mentioned on some mid-1980s issues of Billboard Magazine, but I have not been able to find early 1990s issues mentioning the label.
The AVID claims that this label was owned by a media research company by the name of Rentrak Corporation. So far, I've just checked some Billboard Magazine issues mentioning Rentrak, and they confirm that Rentrak was a pay-per-transaction home video [sub-]distributor and was based in Oregon, but they do not mention Rentrak owning Active Home Video. Some papers on Google Books outside of Billboard claim that Rentrak registered the Active Home Video trademark in 1994; but I kind of think Rentrak merely just acquired the name. According to my past projections on Active Home Video, Burbank Video, an imprint of Viking Entertainment Corp. that after Viking's presumed collapse was integrated into Video Treasures, reissued more than a dozen Active releases in 1991.
