Hollywood Select Video

From Home Video

History[edit]

Hollywood Select Video was based in Chatsworth, California. The label was founded by Conrad Sprout in October 1986. Initially, before 1987, the first few slates of products from the label were distributed by Viking Entertainment, in which the label leased Viking Entertainment’s mailing office. By 1987, Hollywood Select Video established its own mailing office to take on its own distribution.

Between 1989-1990, Conrad Sprout was an executive producer for several documentary titles released on video by Burbank Video. At that point, Burbank Video was Viking Entertainment's sole home video division.

In the 1990s and early 2000s, while most releases from Hollywood Select Video were distributed by Timeless Multimedia Entertainment, itself also known as Timeless Video, some back catalog releases were distributed by Front Row Entertainment.

Known distributors[edit]

  • Viking Entertainment (1986)
  • Concord Video (1987) (The Christmas Video Classic Cartoon Collection)
  • Timeless Multimedia Entertainment (1990-200?)
