History[edit]

In 1990, Steve Savage, along with Fox/Lorber Associates, a TV syndicator who had split off from Prism Entertainment the previous year, had formed its own home video subsidiary, New Video Group, who had a 50% stake, with Fox Lorber Home Video acting as a label for Fox Lorber product.

In late 1992, it split off, with Savage handling New Video Group on its own, and Fox/Lorber handling Fox Lorber Home Video on its own. In 1993, Fox Lorber secured a deal with Orion Home Video, and that year, acquired the Forum Home Video brand from GE Capital, who had owned from the heirs of the Management Company Entertainment Group.

In the late 1990s, the Forum Home Video name was dissolved. In 1996, it was sold to WinStar Communications. In 1997, Fox Lorber elected not to renew its distribution deal with Orion Home Video, and Wellspring Media secured a distribution deal with Fox Lorber Home Video. Fox Lorber also launched WinStar Home Entertainment as a label.

In 1999, it was regrouped into WinStar Film & TV, with Fox Lorber Films and Fox Lorber Center Stage serving as its labels. The Fox Lorber name was dissolved in early 2002, after its parent became Wellspring Media.
